NJICLE is pleased to present this seminar that has been requested by attorneys throughout New Jersey. The Child Support Guidelines are used as a rebuttable presumption to establish and modify all child support orders. This seminar will focus specifically on an in depth analysis of the Guidelines: the philosophy behind them, their relation to the Case Information Statement, important considerations when preparing them and practical advice regarding their preparation and use.

As an attorney, you can’t afford to miss this in-depth presentation to gain a thorough understanding of these important aspects of law.

Learn everything you need to know about the Child Support Guidelines including:
• A comprehensive analysis of the economic principals and assumptions included in the
Child Support Guidelines and how to apply them to your case
• A discussion of expenses that are included in the Guidelines and examples of expenses
that may be added to the basic support obligation
• How to impute income to the parents
• The effect of PAR time and shared parenting arrangements on the child support analysis
• Adjustments for the age and educational level of the children
• The effect of health insurance on the Guidelines
• A discussion of when it may be in your client’s best interests to deviate from the Guidelines,
including examples of “good cause” that would overcome the rebuttable presumption
for use of the Guidelines and how to use the CIS to support the arguments for deviation
