With the increased age of the US population, more and more people are living in nursing homes and similar facilities. The residents of these facilities are frequently victims of abuse and/or negligence, giving rise to increased litigation involving nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
The issues presented in these cases have taken on many new forms. At this new seminar, an authoritative panel of plaintiffs and defense attorneys will be joined by a physician who often testifies in these cases. They will explore all new topics, including new causes of action the increased reach regarding parties named to the lawsuit, as well as ways in which the defense responds.
Learn how to deal with the recent surge in Nursing Home litigation, including: • Medication errors - The case against the pharmacist • Medical directors • Update on pressure ulcers • Abuse: physical, emotional and sexual • Failure to address fall downs and broken bones • Financial abuse: Misappropriation of a patient’s money • A discussion on the distinction between attending physicians and medical directors • Abuse of the Elderly • Assisted Living Evictions • PLUS..a review of the Fairness in Nursing Home Arbitration Act of 2008 … and more!
