Is there a special educational requirement for all newly admitted New Jersey attorneys?Yes. BCLE Reg. 201:2 provides that during a newly admitted lawyer’s first compliance period after admission to the Bar of New Jersey, the newly admitted lawyer must satisfy fifteen of his/her twenty-four required credit hours in any five of the following nine subject areas listed below. The Skills & Methods Course has been abolished, but a lawyer who has completed at least the first full year’s requirements of the Skills and Methods Course will be considered to have met the additional requirements for a newly admitted lawyer.
